Through the course of his career, he has won 3 Grammy’s, contributed to countless recording projects, had his own series of specials on TNN called “Marty Party” which aired for 2 years, and finally, as a successful songwriter has had cuts by Linda Rhonstadt, George Strait, Wynonna, Wade Hayes, John Anderson, and the Del McCoury Band, among others. Marty knows the importance of “carrying the torch,” absorbing what he could from the Greats and passing it on. He knows the music of the people, the music that was born in the Appalachians and on the farms in Mississippi, the music that would have disappeared with the old back roads of the South had he not given it a voice. Marty has kept that music alive and his contributions to country music will be felt always.
