The Blood Arm
"You know when you see a band for the first time and your jaw drops, you're
totally excited because it's something you've never seen a band do before,
and there's only a few bands you see in your lifetime who make you feel that
excited. For us, the Blood Arm are one of them. Not to be missed!"
– Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, on BBC Radio 1, Dec. 21, 2004

Formed in LA in 2002, The Blood Arm have quickly grown into one of the most
exciting and dynamic fixtures on the LA music scene.

In May 2004, they were nominated for Best New Artist at the LA Weekly Music
Awards, and in June the four-piece self-released their debut LP, Bomb
Romantics. They received stellar reviews for this effort. The LA Weekly’s
music editor, John Payne, proclaimed: "They will be huge."

The release of ‘Bomb Romantics’ has brought the band attention from all
corners of the world. Franz Ferdinand, who count themselves among the
band’s most ardent fans, invited The Blood Arm to open the first three dates
of their Stateside tour in June.

In July, the band took on the Monday night residency at Spaceland, one of
LA's premiere rock venues, where they played to capacity crowds four weeks
straight, prompting an unsolicited profile in the LA Times. ‘Bomb
Romantics’ subsequently climbed to the top of Amoeba's local sales chart.

Currently the buzz on the band extends all the way to the UK, where the
track ‘Do I Have Your Attention?’ has been played by Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, and has been added to regular rotation on XFM. NME has done a one page profile on them and repeatedly reviewed their chaotic live shows.
