N O N A H E N D R Y X: from Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles to
Labelle, the ground breaking glam funk band of the 70s (Lady Marmalade (Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi Ce Soir?) to a stunning solo career (Bustin’ Out, I Sweat, Transformation), Nona Hendryx has always been on the cutting edge of music. Her collaborations range from Talking Heads, Material, Prince and Peter Gabriel
to Rahzel, Dead Prez’s M1, and Res’s producers Doc and Khaliyl.
She’s written music for BLUE a Broadway ‘play with music,’ and scored and contributed 14 new songs to the upcoming film “On the One.” Last year she launched a new indie label Rhythmbank with the Anubian Lights as the first release, performed at Summer Festivals across Europe with ‘The Daughters of Soul,’ taught a music seminar in Amsterdam, played Joe’s Pub in NY on a regular basis and is passionate about everything she does and the new artists she is introducing on Rhythmbank.
