The Queers are a punk rock institution. They've been on punk rock labels like Lookout and Hopeless. They've played with punk rock bands like Rancid. They've put out records with punk rock titles like "Beat Off." Okay, let's face it --the Queers are punk rock!
Who else but The Queers could mesh sounds as diverse as The Ramones and Beach Boys and get away with it? Nobody, that's who! Hey, if it weren't for The Queers, the words New Hampshire and punk never would have been uttered in the same breath, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is quite an accomplishment in itself. Records such as "Love Songs For The Retarded" and "Grow Up" have become staples in any self-respecting punk rocker's collection. |
