SXSW 2005 Showcasing Artists

Jim Lauderdale
Fresh from his Grammy winning CD with Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys “Lost in the Lonesome Pines”, Country's most unpredictable artist reels off his latest project, an entire album of songs co-written with Robert Hunter. “Headed For The Hills” was released in May, 2004.

Lauderdale is becoming the Renaissance Man of Country. He's known for being able to write stone traditional country when he likes, and the alternative, progressive country that incorporates any number of other styles if the spirit or occasion calls for it.

His songs have been cut by artists including: Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, Robert Hunter (Jerry Garcia's writing partner his entire career), Dixie Chicks, Gary Allan, Mark Chesnutt, and eight albums by George Strait, alone.
