The Album Leaf

San Diego-based multi-instrumentalist Jimmy LaValle, has been recording as The Album Leaf since the late ‘90s. After years of labor-intensive touring and tinkering in his cramped bedroom studio, LaValle was invited by friends in Icelandic phenoms Sigur Rós and Múm to record his newest opus, and first release for Sub Pop, in their Mosfellsbaer studio. Featuring contributions from members of both those bands and fellow San Diegans The Black Heart Procession, In a Safe Place masterfully negotiates the spaces between minimal electronica and neo-instrumental rock.
