The Mean Reds graduated high school last June.
They hail from the great state of Arizona… Tucson, Arizona to be exact. A Mean Reds live show is absolutely insane (think Iggy Pop meets Lizzie McGuire), as they are often prone to wearing make up and dressing like dead Andy Warhol characters. They are completely obsessed with Disney. After a west coast tour with The Bronx earlier last summer, The Mean Reds collected what was left of their sanity and checked themselves into their first semester of college. That lasted 3 months. They packed up their Hello Kitty suitcases last month, got in their van and moved into a one bedroom apartment in Hollywood last month. Welcome to Los Angeles! The Mean Reds have a brand new EP on Record Collection/True Love Records called Some Sort Of Adventure Through History . The music is a throwback to the old school punk rock they’ve never heard (Bad Brains, Sex Pistols, The Make Up). They are the nicest kids in the world. From what we can tell, their only influences are the Disney Channel and diet pills. Stand back folks, this dance party bleeds. Lock up your daughters. |
