Cousin

Over the past year Cousin has perfected its sound, blending the rough and tenacious with the soft and tender. Cousin’s sound is couched somewhere between the leanings of Steely Dan and Big Star, yet they mimic no artist or genre blatantly, a rarity in this age of unabashed retro thievery. Cousin’s lead guitarist Raze Regal’s heavy and articulate strumming wins over fans of all sorts of sub-genres. While drummer Ray Mcnaught’s inventive drumming, and keyboardist, Noam Szwergold’s playing add flavor, bassist Peter Kelin’s bass playing is the anchor and glue helping to guide the band's vacillations between the smooth and the treacherous.
Cousin’s first CD, For the Ages is best encapsulated in the tracks Autumn, and Fearless. Cousin’s second CD featuring the seething single, "The Girl I Knew" - which is sure to rock all sorts of danceterias - is due for release in May. |
