Metal Urbain
A myth is back on stage. Metal Urbain : big killer punk rock guitar hooks, squealing textural synth noises, shouted French vocals, and an adrenalin-fueled drum machine. The first punk rock band to use a drum machine back in 1977, Metal Urbain blazed venues in Paris and London, with a sound so distinct that Rough Trade would make them their first ever release.
Over the years following their demise, they built an ever expanding fanbase, including Henry Rollins, Robert Smith, Steve Albini, Jello Biafra and Alan McGee. That they are back in action playing in Austin right here, right now, playing all their old classics and previewing mind boggling new material, is a miraculous event not to be missed.
