There was a magical time in music where one could turn on their favorite FM radio station and be rewarded for their efforts with a stream of truly classic rock ‘n’ roll. The sounds of T-Rex melding into Sweet, or the Alice Cooper Group played back to back against a Deep Purple album track. The ‘70s era of rock ‘n’ roll was a time when the purchase of an album was a sacred rite of passage, the attending of a concert the equivalent of a mass religious experience, and the image and art of the rock ‘n’ roll performer married as one. Liquor and Poker Music and Crash Kelly want to take you back...ladies and gentlemen, please adjust your Hi-Fi players because the next rock ‘n’ roll transmission is getting ready to slam your ear drums.

Crash Kelly is the soul child of Sean Kelly, a young Toronto session musician who has toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in Canadian music. After years of playing sideman to sundry artists, the rock ‘n’ roll animal in Sean could no longer be contained. In 2002 Crash Kelly was born.

Crash Kelly comes by its influences honestly. Weaned on the classic music of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, KISS, T-Rex and others through his older sister's record collection, Sean quickly fell under the spell of the sound of twin guitars, slamming glam rock beats and performance-based rock ‘n’ roll. Being a child of the ‘80s, Sean was able to separate the wheat from the chaff of the hard rock artists of the famed Sunset Strip. Early Mötley Crüe and RATT are considered essential listening in the Kelly household, and the combination of those influences filtered through the strong sway of the aforementioned ‘70s influence to form the foundation for Crash Kelly.

Crash Kelly's debut album, Penny Pills, was co-produced by Sean and "Killer" Ky Anto, of Robin Black and The Intergalactic Rockstars’ fame. Ky's production expertise and shared love of classic production resulted in an album that honestly represents the spirit of hook-filled, swaggering rock ‘n’ roll. This sound, coupled with Crash Kelly’s electrifying live show which has seen them open as of late for the likes of Alice Cooper and WASP, is what drew Liquor and Poker Music to the band and ultimately resulted in the band being offered a multi-album worldwide deal by the label.

With a permanent line-up that includes Kelly on lead vocals and guitar, veteran Toronto guitarist Allister Thompson, transplanted American drummer Eric Herrmann and multi-platinum artist Jeff Pearce on bass, Crash Kelly is a band that is hell-bent to put a smile on your face, a ringing in your ears and rock ‘n’ roll salvation in your heart. Liquor and Poker Music will be releasing Penny Pills with a brilliant cover of Cheap Trick’s “Elo Kiddies” as a bonus track and a video for the song “She Gets Away” in early 2005. Penny Pills will without a doubt set the standard for all other “rock” releases to beat in the year. Trust me, it will be no easy feat by any means!

Look out ‘cause Crash Kelly is comin' to your town, they’ll help ‘ya party it down...’ya catch my drift? You better!
