Brisbane trio The Grates have been touted as ones to watch in Australia in 2005, after national youth radio network Triple J picked up on their demos, ‘Trampoline’, ‘Sukkafish’ and ‘Rock Boys’ pushing them to high rotation.

Patience’s captivating vocals, John’s catchy riffs and Alana’s pounding drums create unique lo-fi pop rock.

After touring with the likes of Rocket Science, Regurgitator, TISM, The Tremors and the 5,6,7,8s, The Grates released their debut EP, ‘The Ouch. The Touch.’ through independent label Dew Process in Australia in February 2005. It is ready for international release immediately. A promotional tour of London, NY, Toronto and LA surrounds the SXSW showcase.
