there is no club scene or independent music stations in Iran, so the music has to somehow find its way to the ears of the audience.
127 is an Iranian band trying to make some noise in the islamic republic. together for 4 years, its a mixture of Iranian melodies with jazz influences and with an alternative flavour.
so far 127's very own club has been comingaroundmusic.com and it has performed 4 times at the Tehran Art University. no performances outside the university since it still has not recieved the permission from the authorities.
hoping to get it soon. Sohrab Mohebbi (guitars/vocals), Sardar Sarmast (piano), Alireza Pourasad (bass), Salmak Khaledi (trombone) and Yahya Alkhansa on the drums, are 127 members and they have never killed anybody!
