Ghosty’s ‘Three Pop Songs EP,’ recorded by Mike Mogis, moved Sondre Lerche to declare the band a "U.S., ninetees, guitar-based alt-rock Prefab Sprout."
Kansans Ghosty played/sang on “A Change at Christmas,” from the Flaming Lips’ ‘Ego Tripping EP.’ Ghosty’s forthcoming album “Grow Up or Sleep In” even features Wayne Coyne on a track. Ghosty wants to attract attention from industry types at SXSW, and to be dubbed the "next big thing." To be exact, we'd like to find a record label to release "Grow Up or Sleep In." "It may only be rock 'n' roll, but Ghosty, the Appleseed Cast, the New Amsterdams and other young bands are playing it with such virtuosity that Lawrence is now perhaps the most vital music scene between Chicago and Denver." -Seth Sherwood New York Times Feb. 25, 2005 |
