From 1987 to 1996, Gladwell was a reporter for The Washington Post, first as a science writer and then as New York City bureau chief. Now a senior staff writer for The New Yorker magazine, he penned "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference" in 2002. This book remains tremendously influential amongst uber-geeks and bloggers as a reference for analyzing underlying trends in the web world: more than 650,000 copies hardback and paperback have been sold around the world. His newest effort, "Blink: Thin-Slicing, Snap Judgments and the Power of Thinking Without Thinking" will go on bookshelves in January 2005.

Ana Marie Cox Ana Marie Cox, whose off-color genius has propelled Wonkette into one of the nation's most popular political weblogs, has confirmed as the keynote interview on Monday afternoon, March 14.

Formerly a contributor at the late great satirical site suck.com, Cox has also written for Feed, Inside, Mother Jones and The American Prospect. She has served as the razor-sharp voice behind Wonkette since its January 2004 launch. Cox has parlayed her massive success with this site to appearances on MTV and MSNBC, a book deal and a profile on the cover of the New York Times Magazine.

MARCH 15 KEYNOTE CONVERSATION: ALEX STEFFEN + BRUCE STERLING

Alex Steffen and Bruce Sterling On Tuesday afternoon, March 15, the keynote conversation will feature a lively dialogue between WorldChanging Editor Alex Steffen and Wired columnist Bruce Sterling.

Alex Steffen edits the award-winning site Worldchanging.com (which covers tools, models and ideas for building a better future), wrote the forthcoming book "Bright Green: Designing prosperity that won't trash the planet," and consults to a wide range of business and non-profit groups on environmental, technological and design issues.

As for Sterling (pictured at right), Time magazine labels him "one of America's best-known science fiction writers and perhaps the sharpest observer of our media-choked culture working today in any genre." He has spoken at SXSW Interactive many times over the years -- and these presentations always draw rave reviews from attendees.
