In May of 2003, Ray Golden, a 32 year old black man, was found hanging from a tree in the small town of Belle Glade, Florida. While his family claimed he was lynched, the local police ruled the death a suicide. "Strange Fruit" follows this family and others as they attempt to find justice in this little town torn by racial divisiveness and class struggle.
